Live in The Studio with Matt The Electrician

Richmond Free Press UK collab with Country in The UK ‘Live in The Studio’ is back with Matt The Electrician as the latest guest. Based in Austin, TX, Matt finally returns to the UK for a string of solo shows and debut this past weekend at Long Road Festival.

Recently, Matt premiered “Thank You” via American Songwriter a direct sentiment from Matt to his dedicated fanbase for supporting him throughout the years. Rooted in gratitude, Matt sings, “Where would I be if no one helped me along? I wouldn’t have gotten very far on my own.” The single also serves as a pre-emptive show of appreciation as Matt kicks off a major Kickstarter campaign for his most ambitious record yet, taking him into the studio of renowned producer Tucker Martine (Jenny Lewis, Iron & Wine, My Morning Jacket, The Decemberists, Neko Case) in Portland, Oregon this fall. The collaboration with Martine marks a significant new career phase for Matt — his first time working with a producer in his more than 25 years of writing and performing. The accompanying Kickstarter campaign for the album launches today, which is anticipated for release in Spring 2020.
